Pastoral policy for FY 2012
Arise & Shine
¡°Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you."
(Isaiah 60:1).
More than a year has passed since we moved to a new chapel in Centreville.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all members of the congregation who devoted themselves with prayer and offerings for the construction of the new chapel. I also would like to thank those who have served faithfully in the new chapel.
God knows your effort and sacrifice. God is pleased to see your faith and God has received your devotion.
Now in the new fiscal year, God is telling us, to "Arise and Shine". He is saying arise to reveal the glory of God in this dark world. .
He is telling us to not be weak spiritually, to not consume energy on unnecessary things, to not try to focus on non-essential work, to not blame the dark world. Instead he commands us to devote ourselves to the church¡¯s mission of evangelism, to become the disciples of Jesus Christ, and to making new disciples of Jesus Christ.
He is telling us to be the salt and light of Jesus Christ and to make a spiritual impact on the world. He says to shine light in the world in the name of Jesus Christ.
We have to pay attention and be devoted to saving souls in the new fiscal year.
We need to prepare several things in order to obey the words "Arise and Shine". We need to know the love of God, the Father. Love for the soul has to be restored. We must pray for the lost souls, we have to receive training in evangelism, and we
must have an intimate fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
A few things are proposed in order for us to obey the words "Arise and Shine" during this fiscal year.
1. Make a list of people around you who do not yet believe in Jesus Christ. Pray for them Individually and in ¡°Soon¡± small meetings. Invite them to your Bible Study meetings.
2 Engage with other members of the wider community. Invite them to you homes and serve them with the love of God. Spread the gospel to them when the time is appropriate lead them to a nearby church.
3.Dedicate yourself to out-of-country missions. Go to a short-term mission at least once a year. Become a professional missionary. Commit yourself to become a short-term or long-term missionary.
4. Dedicate yourself to Compassion ministry and become a spiritual parent to a child in a third country. Devote yourself to nurturing a person, especially a leader of the next generation.
5. Do at least one good work every day . Shine the light of Jesus to the world with good deeds. Show the world the love of Jesus through your actions. Become a good person full of the Holy Spirit and faith like Barnabas. (Acts 11:24)
The true ministry of the church as the body of Jesus Christ is to bless the world through the love of God and neighbor. Jesus has called the disciples as the leaders of the Blessing. Jesus wants us to be the leaders of the blessing who transform the world by becoming the salt and light of the world armed with good deeds and the Gospel. I hope that you will become saints who obey the command of ¡°arise and shine¡± of Jesus Christ.
