The Roles of the Ministry

The Youth Ministry consists of four departments and three affiliated departments.  The four departments are All Stars (English speaking middle school), Joshua Generation (English speaking high school), Agape (Korean speaking middle & high school), and Youth Music.  Youth are being trained to become mature Christians with faith through a variety of activities. These include Sunday worships, small group bible studies, discipleship training,  and Friday night meetings. Other activities include Saturday dawn prayer meetings, praise, and sermons under the guidance of our four pastors.

The three affiliated departments are CIA (Korean speaking middle & high school bible study), Parents Prayer Group and the PTA.  These departments operate Korean bible study classes for the English speaking children to learn Korean and to have new knowledge about Korea. Every Friday night members of the Parents Prayer Group holds prayer meetings to pray for their children.

Operation Policy/Operation Direction/Plans

  1. All Stars, JG & Agape hold weekly Friday meetings, Saturday dawn prayer meetings, and Sunday worships.  They volunteer to help short-term missions and Children's Ministry.  They also hold one-day retreats, summer/winter retreats, combined youth worships, family worships, open houses, "True Love Waits" ceremonies, Senior Banquets, Inner City Missions, and various athletic events.

  2. All Stars, JG, & Agape also conduct youth short-term missions training semi independently. This year, approximately 50 youths received 4-month short-term missions training and they performed missions mininstry in many countries, i.e., Canada (Vancouver), Costa Rica, Mexico, and Honduras. Youths have an opportunity to practice God's love by participating in the Washington DC Peace-Sharing organization. There is also a parents' prayer meeting every Friday and intercessory prayer meeting for the youth every Sunday morning. In addition, teachers and leaders receive training through departmental teachers' training program, Education Department's kick-off meetings, Education Department's leadership meetings, and various outside education programs.
